In hyper-arid coastal and mountainous areas where rainfall is rare but dense fog banks occur regularly (e.g., Morocco Anti-Atlas, Peru/Chile Atacama, Eritrea), fog collectors harvest suspended water droplets directly from wind-driven fog.

CloudFisher Industrial Fog Collector

Developed by the German NGO WasserStiftung (WaterFoundation), CloudFisher is an industrial-grade, wind-resistant fog collector.

  • Design: Monofilament 3D mesh nets suspended in a heavy galvanized steel frame capable of withstanding winds over 120 km/h.
  • Yield: 4 to 36 liters of clean water per square meter of mesh daily during fog events.
  • Energy: 100% passive, zero fuel or electricity required.
